Konami has released the opening film for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, giving fans their first look at the modernized version of the iconic opening sequence from the original game released in 2004. Inspired by the style of James Bond, the new video retains recognizable elements such as the skeletons of snakes and dynamic visual effects, but now with an enhanced depiction of the members of Cobra Unit, including The End, The Pain, and The Fear, as well as an emotional encounter between Snake and The Boss.
The theme song "Snake Eater" has been re-recorded by the original performer Cynthia Harrell, bringing a softer and more psychedelic interpretation that reflects the more mature tone of the remake. Interactive elements from the original, such as the ability to control snakes on screen, have also been preserved.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is set to release on August 28, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
