The head of Xbox Game Studios Craig Duncan announced in a official podcast that Playground's Fable will be delayed until 2026. "I just want to start by saying how pleased I am with the progress and where Playground is currently."
"We originally announced that Fable would be released in 2025. We decided to give it a bit more time, so it will now be released in 2026. Although I know these are not the news people want to hear, I want to say that the wait will definitely be worth it." A short pre-alpha gameplay clip has also been released, which you can watch in the video.
"I have complete confidence in Playground. If you look at their history and legacy of Forza Horizon, the last two games on Metacritic had a score of 92 and won many critical awards. Just think about the visual experience that awaits you, plus excellent gameplay and British humor in Playground's version of Albion."
"I am excited about the further plans and the future, and I want the community to understand that we are doing this for the games and the teams working on them, which ultimately results in the best games for the community."
