Facepunch Studios has announced that the successor to Garry's Mod, s&box will be released on April 28. For those who are not familiar, Garry's Mod was one of the best-selling games on Steam, and it is a creative sandbox in which many people showed their skills and it also spawned various internet memes.
Thus, this 20-year-old game will get its successor this month, which will surely raise the bar of creativity. S&box will run the Source 2 engine, which is also used for Counter-Strike 2 and Dota 2, and after being exclusive to Valve, it will also reach other players, but also indie creators who will be able to experience its full power.
What is also big news is that all projects created in this sandbox title will have the possibility of being published on the Steam store as separate games without paying a license like other engines (Unity and Unreal Engine), of course part of the sales money will still go to Valve.
