Ubisoft has confirmed that the shooting of the Assassin's Creed series has begun, which will be on the streaming service Netflix. According to the announcement on the official X profile, the series will be set in Rome in the year 46 after the birth of Jesus Christ, in the same announcement the complete cast was announced, including: Toby Wallace (Babyteeth) and Lola Petticrew (Say Nothing).
The streaming giant gave the series the green light last July, and the producers will be Roberto Patino (DMZ, Westworld, Sons of Anarchy) and David Wiener (Halo, Homecoming, The Killing), who were also nominated for the prestigious Emmy Award. Netflix described Assassin's Creed last year as adrenaline thriller which is focused on a secret war between two factions and according to the creators will follow several characters through various historical events.
Wiener and Patino in a joint announcement last year said the following about the series: "We've been fans of the Assassin's Creed series since it came out in 2007. Every day we spend working on the series leaves us humbled and excited for all the directions we can go. Beneath the grandeur, the spectacle, the parkour, and the fun, is the foundation for the most basic human story of people who they're looking for a purpose, but they're about identity, and about faith. But more than that, this is a series about human connection through different eras and times. We have the perfect team at Ubisoft behind us to create something. undeniably for fans around the world."
