"Eidos Montreal announces a workforce reduction and the departure of Studio Manager David Anfossi. The reduction affects 124 employees and is the result of necessary changes to projects and the impact on production and support teams. Today is a difficult day for our studio reflecting the need to adapt and focus on where Eidos Montreal needs to go in order to be as effective as possible. We are extremely grateful to the team members affected, this decision is not a result of their talents, dedication or performance. Our priority is to support and care for the other teams who continue their work. After many years at the helm of the studio, David wishes him all the best in his future endeavors and we will announce more information soon support for our colleagues remains.
Eidos Montreal was also the most desirable place to work in the industry according to the GamesIndustry.biz portal and one of the top 100 companies from Montreal according to the annual competition Canada's Top 100 Employers. The studio was founded by Stéphane D'Astous on November 26, 2007 and has worked on titles from the Deus Ex, Marvel and Tomb Raider series and currently serves as support for Playground Games for the new Fable and Obsidian for Grounded 2.
