It might be hard to release a 3rd person shooter that no one has seen before. Players are eager for something new, and gameplay loop is a particularly difficult challenge today with all that doomscrolling and short attention span. The secret of success may have been found again by Remedy Entertainment, a studio that has produced hits for years - from the dark Alan Wake, through the legendary Max Payne, all the way to Control from 2019. It was this Control that took us through the narrow, bureaucratically boring corridors of the Oldest House, where every now and then we would come across bizarre articles that would explain to us what actually happened.

And today? The studio decided that the office was too crowded for us and they let us out into the streets of Manhattan. Although we will have to forgive the studio for taking away Jesse and her gun (which, along with Kratos' ax, is one of the best weapons in the modern gaming scene), we got a new protagonist – Dylan. And they gave him... a sword? No, they gave him a chain? Dylan controls gravity, moves buildings and changes the architecture of the city in front of him and takes the ground from his enemies.

Control Resonant offers us Aberrant, the weapon with which Dylan will thrash through the streets of New York. They replaced the lack of a gun with powerful abilities with which we will deal with enemies from afar, and when someone gets in our face, Aberrant becomes a powerful hammer with which we will smash everyone in front of us.

With obscure characters and massive boss fights, the game looks incredibly promising. We will have to wait for more details at the end of the year.
