Chicken Run: Eggstraction was developed by Aardman Animations and published by Outright Games. The game was released on October 24 of this year on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, XBOX Series X/S, XBOX One, Nintendo Switch, and Microsoft Windows for a price of €28.99.

The game comes after the events of Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget. This latest game set in the Chicken Run universe allows you to gather your own team and try to rescue as many chickens as possible from various locations.

The core gameplay in Chicken Run: Eggstraction involves running through environments while unlocking doors, activating devices, and figuring out how to sneak past robotic and human guards with the goal of rescuing chickens or simply reaching the exit of the level. Before you start, you can buy and equip items, as well as choose which chick to take with you, each of which has several different skills that you can upgrade with earned stars.

Each level offers 3 optional challenges that reward you with stars if you manage to complete them. Although this sounds great and adds replay value, I found that many challenges are only achievable after you become familiar with the level, so you will definitely experience a huge sense of trial and error.
Short conclusion:
Pros:
- replayability
- humor
Cons:
- poor controls
- camera issues (very frustrating positioning and camera problems)
- replayability reduced to trial and error
Rating: 2.5 out of 5
