Director David F. Sandberg announced on his official Instagram profile that the filming of the movie adaptation of the horror video game Until Dawn has been completed in Budapest. Filming officially began in August of this year, and the release date is set for October next year.
The screenplay is written by Gary Dauberman, who is also the producer of the project. Dauberman has written scripts for the Annabelle series and was a co-writer for It: Chapter Two. The cast includes Maia Mitchell, Belmont Cameli, and Peter Stormae. Stromae is also the only actor returning to reprise his role from the video game.
"I have always wanted to return to the horror genre after Lights Out and Annabelle: Creation, Until Dawn explores all the subgenres of this genre to create the scariest experience ever," Sandberg said to The Hollywood Reporter.
We remind you that Until Dawn was re-released this week in a remastered version for PlayStation 5 and, unlike the original, contains new endings.
