As revealed by IGN, a new game based on the Nickelodeon animated series Avatar The Last Airbender is in development. It is being developed by Paramount Game Studios, Avatar Studios, and Saber Interactive (Space Marine 2), with plans for the game to be an action RPG.
Unfortunately, not much information has been disclosed, but they say it will be the largest game in the franchise's history and will be released on PC and consoles. The story will be completely new but set in the Avatar world, a hundred years before the known events. Players will control a completely new, never-before-seen Avatar, who will be able to control all four elements.
"We know that loyal fans of Avatar: The Last Airbender have been eager for new stories that will bring them into the universe of the series, and through gameplay, we can expand world-building and allow fans to experience new content in a fully immersive way," said Doug Rosen, senior vice president of games and new media at Paramount. "Saber Interactive has a proven track record of bringing games based on popular IPs to life, and we are excited to co-finance this AAA title with them and allow fans to experience this world firsthand."
