As this year's Philippine GameDev Expo (PGDX 2025) approaches, excitement is growing around the event that celebrates the local gaming community. The organizers have just announced a series of updates that further elevate the atmosphere ahead of the big event.
Thus, the Tito Gaming Tournament Series has been announced, a special retro tournament series aimed at all fans of the golden era of gaming. Among the titles that will bring back memories of arcade days and internet cafes are the cult classics Counter-Strike 1.3, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, and the indispensable Tetris. Registrations are open, and the number of spots is limited, so don't miss the chance to show younger generations how gaming used to be!
With a retro atmosphere, PGDX 2025 places special emphasis on the indie scene through its renowned Indie Game Stars program. The sixth generation of talented Filipino developers has the opportunity to showcase their creative projects, and the audience will be able to vote for their favorite, which will win a cash prize of up to ₱100,000. This part of the program excellently illustrates the creative strength of the Filipino indie scene, reaffirming PGDX's commitment to promoting local developers on a global scale.
For additional community engagement, there are weekly livestreams on PGDX's official Facebook page. The topics are diverse – from cosplay to game development, pop culture to exclusive interviews and behind-the-scenes showcases.
All of this is just a prelude to what PGDX 2025 has in store – even bigger announcements, unique experiences, and numerous other activities that continue to promote Filipino creativity in the world of digital entertainment.
