Nintendo Switch has managed to sell an incredible 146.04 million units worldwide, as of September 30, 2024. This information was published in the latest financial report.
This demonstrates that Nintendo's strategy of releasing less powerful consoles, but with innovative hardware solutions and fun games, is indeed profitable. The Nintendo Switch has been on the market since March 3, 2017, and in six years, two new models (Lite and OLED) have been released. Thanks to these strong sales results and the expansion of the online subscription (which is actively used by over 38 million console owners worldwide), it seems that the time has slowly come to announce a new Nintendo console. The next year, 2025, could be a good year for the earliest presentation of the new console.
As an addition to the report, the list of the ten best-selling Switch first-party games of all time has been updated.
