CD Projekt Red announced at Anime Expo that they are working on Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2. They have once again teamed up with studio TRIGGER and streaming service Netflix to create a new story set in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe.
At the panel, they revealed the official logo and poster of the series and stated that the director will be Kai Ikarashi, who takes over from Hiroyuki Imaishi. The project was also commented on by the screenwriter Bartosz Sztybor: "The story of David Martinez may be over, but there is still much to discover in Night City. I am glad that we have studio TRIGGER with us again, as well as CD Projekt Red, to tell a new story of redemption and revenge.
Ikarashi will be joined by Kanno Ichigo (Promare, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners) and Masahiko Otsuka (Gurren Lagann, Promare). After the panel, a short teaser was shown to the attendees.
