The development studio HoYoverse has officially announced that support for the game Genshin Impact on PlayStation 4 will cease on April 8, 2026. The reason stated in the announcement relates to hardware performance limitations and the size of the game itself.
The service interruption will occur in three phases:
- September 10, 2025. The game will be removed from the PlayStation Store — users who have not downloaded it earlier will no longer be able to install the game after this date.
- February 25, 2026. The ability to make in-game purchases will be disabled — users will no longer be able to perform microtransactions, although purchased items that have not yet been used can be redeemed until the end of the support period.
- April 8, 2026, exactly at 06:00 UTC+8, the official cessation of updates and full support — the game will no longer be able to run on PS4 consoles,
In the announcement, players are encouraged to link their PSN account with their HoYoverse (HoYoLab) account to save their progress and continue playing on other platforms such as PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox, and mobile devices.
