Human Within is an innovative VR interactive experience coming to Meta Quest 2 and 3 on January 9, 2025, and will soon be available for SteamVR as well. This multimedia science fiction project was developed in collaboration with Signal Space Lab and Actrio Studio, under the creative leadership of Avi Winkler and Anne Weigel.
The game's plot follows Nyla, a cyber engineer, and her sister Linh, who work at Forward Industries on a revolutionary supercomputer that utilizes the processing power of the human brain. When Nyla decides to leave the project, both sisters are imprisoned and forced to continue working, while suspecting hidden motives from their employer. In an attempt to escape, Nyla is forced to connect technology with Linh and use it in a way she feared the most.
Human Within stands out with its unique combination of original storytelling and gameplay, offering players an interactive experience that includes:
- User participation: Players experience the story from Linh's consciousness within a virtual internet space, providing a unique way to observe and participate in events.
- Interactivity of point clouds: Exploring environments in digital recreations, allowing players to engage more deeply with the story.
- Choice and consequences: Key moments in the story are defined by player decisions, shaping past events and determining how everything will end in the present.
- Diversity of styles: The story is narrated through a unique combination of three different visual styles: an internet space that blends 2D film and 3D graphics, flashback scenes with interactive 360-degree stereo film, and recreations of point clouds with 6 dof 3D environments.
