Broken Sword - Shadow of the Templars: Reforged was released today, September 19, 2024, in digital form on the following platforms: PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC (Windows, macOS, and Linux) at a price of 29.99 euros. The release of the Nintendo Switch version is expected in October 2024.
The original version for PC and PlayStation sold half a million copies on PlayStation in 1996 and was declared one of the best PlayStation games by the readers of Službenik PlayStation Magazin. The first re-release in 2009 sold over 5 million copies! It is highly likely that this remaster will also achieve good sales results.
As can be seen from the trailer, this is a modernized version of the original game released back in 1996. In addition to improved visuals, Reforged also brings enhanced audio effects and music. Revolution Software has included graphical details that could not be added to the original for technical or other reasons. For all the nostalgic players, a good feature is that the graphical style can be switched to the old one at the press of a button (similar to the Monkey Island remakes).
