Activision and Paramount Pictures have announced that they have reached an agreement to produce a film based on the Call of Duty series. Unfortunately, they did not reveal which title the film will shape its story around, but they mentioned that there is a possibility of expanding into multiple films and even a TV series.
"As a longtime fan of Call of Duty, this is a dream come true. From the first Allied campaign in the original COD to Modern Warfare and Black Ops, I have spent countless hours playing a franchise that I absolutely love. Being chosen for this adaptation and bringing a great story to the big screen is an extraordinary honor and responsibility that we will not take lightly," said Paramount's chief, David Ellison.
Activision President Rob Kotick stated the following: "Throughout its history, COD has captured our imaginations with its excellent action and gripping stories that have united millions of people around the world, and that focus on building this franchise will remain forever. At Paramount, we have found a great partner to work with to bring that experience to the big screen through exceptional cinematography. The film will pay tribute to, but also expand on, everything that has made this franchise great, and we can’t wait to start filming."
