Silent Hill f - a new beginning

The new chapter of the cult horror series brings a bold twist - the game is set in the fictitious Japanese town of Ebisugaoka in the 1960s, and you play as high school student Hinako Shimizu, who must uncover a creepy secret around her.

Positive sides: The atmosphere is great - eerie, fog and traditional Shinto motifs create a recognizable "Silent Hill" feeling but with a fresh expression. The puzzles are cleverly designed and give a nice sense of progression through the game.

What could be better: The combat system and action play a more significant role than in the classic editions, which disrupts the rhythm of the horror. However, the game doesn't seem to achieve the same level of emotional intensity or surprise as the best titles in the series.

Inclusive: If you are a fan of horror games and are willing to accept a little evolution in the formula, Silent Hill f is a very solid title that brings both respect to the source material and a new location/expression. However, if you expect an identical feel to the most famous early sequels, you may want more. Recommendation.
