Microsoft's popular science fiction Halo franchise will receive several sequels in the next few years made in the Unreal 5 graphics engine. At the same time, the studio in charge of game development, 343 Industries, will be renamed Halo Studios.

The news was officially announced on Xbox Wire. By switching to Unreal Engine 5, developers will be able to simultaneously work on the development of several high-quality Halo games for PC, Xbox Series X/S, mobile devices and next-gen Xbox consoles. To show what is possible, a video was released showing Project Foundry, a potential look of future games from the series.

The official announcement of the new games will happen in 2025 or later. As for the existing Halo Infinite, it will continue to be supported via the existing Slipspace Engine, and will continue to receive new Operations and Forge mode updates.
