Universal Pictures has released the trailer for the second part of the film adaptation of Five Nights at Freddy's. The film will not be related to the video game of the same name but will follow the story of the film from 2023.

It has been a year since security guard Mike experienced horror at Freddy Fazbear's pizzeria and he and his 11-year-old sister Abby have not cleared up what exactly happened. Abby soon receives a call from her old animatronic friends and uncovers the dark origins of Freddy and his assistants Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy.

Most of the cast will return for the sequel, and the director will again be Emma Tammi, while the series creator Scott Cawthon will write the script once more.

Five Nights at Freddy's 2 hits theaters on December 5, two weeks before Avatar 3 by James Cameron, which could be the film of the year.
