On PC, Out Fishing has been announced, an unusual blend of fishing simulator and psychological horror, developed by solo developer Mūn Mūn Games, and published by UNIKAT Label, known for indie titles like POOLS and Dystopika. The game was announced on June 18, 2025, and is already available for adding to your Steam wishlist, although the exact release date is still unknown.

The game takes place in the first person, at an abandoned lake surrounded by a forest full of whispers, strange visions, and a feeling that you are not alone. While the day brings work – fishing, selling the catch, setting up camp, and upgrading equipment – the night brings horror: the forest, fog, and lake become a threat, and sometimes the fish speak.

The atmosphere is inspired by titles like Alan Wake, Silent Hill, and Mundauna – slow, ominous, filled with discomfort. The mechanics are simple: the camp is upgraded to reach deeper waters and more dangerous areas, but with that profit comes weakness – tools break, nights are long, and the gap between reality and hallucination narrows.

The author states that the game offers a “horror story paced to your rhythm,” told through exploration, fishing, visions, and eerie discoveries. The day-night cycle changes conditions: fish, threats from the forest, and your mental state react to the fall of darkness. Along with all this, the world is quiet, and the deeper you go, the closer you are to losing consciousness – a complete contrast between work and panic.

UNIKAT Label presents this title as part of its mission to push boundaries and promote unique indie projects, with known titles from their catalog including Dystopika, POOLS, and upcoming High Above and Nano Neighbors.

So far, it is known that the release will be exclusive to PC and that it is available for “wishlisting” on Steam. If you are interested in the combination of meditative fishing and dark horror, it is recommended to check out the trailer, add the game to your wishlist, and prepare for the silence that reminds you that the dead forest only breathes, and the lake remembers.
