Bethesda has announced new releases of classic shooters that shaped the genre. These are Heretic and Hexen which were released in 1994 and 1995 when Raven Software developed them on a modified DOOM engine. These titles introduced many elements to gaming that are still used today (inventory, classes...).
This package includes the following:
• Heretic: Shadow of the Serpent Riders
• Hexen: Beyond Heretic
• Hexen: Deathkings of the Dark Citadel
• Two new episodes created in collaboration with id Software and Nightdive Studios
• Heretic: Faith Renewed
• Hexen: Vestiges of Grandeur
The new features include:
• Online cross-platform and local split-screen deathmatch and co-op modes
• Enhanced soundtrack by Andrew Hulshult
• Support for mods
• Better performance with support for modern systems, including 4K 120 FPS on consoles, modern controllers, and widescreen monitors
• A range of accessibility options, quality-of-life improvements, and enhancements for the engine.
