Microsoft has officially confirmed the prices for these portable devices that will be released on October 16 of this year.
The company has set a price of $999.99 for the powerful ROG Xbox Ally X, and $599.99 for the ROG Xbox Ally. The prices are close, but still higher than those speculated this summer. Given that the feedback from the gaming community has been mostly critical regarding the price itself, it remains to be seen how much the higher price compared to earlier speculations will contribute to weaker sales.
Xbox is aware of this and notes that defining a price is always a challenge.
Microsoft Vice President Jason Ronald stated, "you are always trying to find the right balance between affordability and price, and I think especially in the mobile format which also adds dimensions like battery life. And then, as you said, the macroeconomic climate is challenging."
In Croatia, a higher price can be expected, and we will just have to see how it, as well as elsewhere, will affect sales.
