Valve has announced a new set of hardware devices within its Steam platform — the Steam Machine, Steam Frame, and Steam Controller, which will arrive in early 2026.
Steam Machine is a compact home-format gaming PC (about 160 mm³) with AMD-Zen4/RDNA3 class processor and graphics, 16 GB DDR5 + 8 GB VRAM, and support for 4K/8K display — designed for those who want a full library of Steam games without compromise.

Steam Frame comes as a wireless VR (and non-VR) headset with its own Snapdragon 8 chip, support for streaming from PC, simultaneous dual radio channels, and “foveated streaming” technology that optimizes image quality where you are looking.

Steam Controller is a highly customizable gamepad with magnetic thumbsticks, trackpads, and gyro control — designed for both PC gaming and connecting with other Steam devices.

Prices have not yet been announced, but the collaboration of these three devices clearly indicates Valve's ambition for Steam to become the central platform for gaming – from the living room to VR setups.
