The day lasts only a short 24 hours. Playing and writing about video games is our hobby, not a regular job. The daily amount of news coming from the video game industry is too much for us to process on our small gaming portal. To make it easier for you to follow the news, we provide an overview of all Croatian gaming portals in one place.
According to the latest research, there are a total of eleven active gaming portals in the Republic of Croatia, including Virus. In order of their launch years, they are: HCL.hr (2005), 227 Gaming (2011), GoodGame.hr (2011), Reboot (2012), Tehix.hr (2014), GamePerspective (2014), FFA.hr (2015), GameHub (2020), PC Play (2021), Indie Games (2023), and Pikselzona (2025).
HCL.hr gaming portal is the largest, most important, and most relevant gaming portal in the region. Their authors bring fresh content from the video game industry, technology, and the entertainment world every day. They inform through original reviews, express opinions in columns, and educate younger generations of players about the history of video games. Alongside the website, a YouTube channel has been active since 2010, which today has over 600,000 subscribers.

The idea of founding the portal emerged in late summer 2011, and it materialized thanks to the motivation of certain former members and founders of various similar gaming web projects in recent years (from new gameplay to crogamer, poopha, xboxcroatia, pspcroatia, console players, lnl, etc.). Since December 5, 2011, GoodGame.hr has been providing an increasing and more frequent number of information related to all platforms in the gaming industry and all products that fall within that domain.

The successor to the magazines PSX and GamePlay now exists in the form of a gaming portal where the latest news from the world of video games and a weekly video podcast - Rebootcast - are published. Additionally, Reboot is more than just a portal - they organize events that attract numerous visitors and people from the video game industry (Reboot InfoGamer, Reboot Develop Blue, Reboot Develop Red). As for the magazine, publication was halted on December 23, 2022, and better times are awaited for a relaunch in a large and expanded format.

Tehix is a multimedia web portal with a tradition lasting 10 years. It covers news, reviews, gaming, technology, movies, esports, and series. The editorial team and contributors are young people who excel at their jobs. One of the higher quality portals that is not well known to the broader gaming public in Croatia

GamePerspectives is a portal dedicated to promoting Croatian culture and the video game industry in general, as well as familiarizing with the business side of that industry. Along with regular publication of articles, videos, and other attractive content, the main goal is to help solve the mentioned problems for an industry that deserves faster and higher quality growth in Croatia.

FFA.hr is the second largest domestic portal covering the latest news, announcements, and reviews of current video games. They are also, along with HCL.hr and Reboot, the only ones with an active forum where players can connect, discuss games, and share their experiences.

The only television channel in Croatia dedicated to gaming and geek culture, available in over 720,000 households, has its own website where they publish daily news from the video game industry, with a special focus on e-sports. GameHub's programming can be followed on the following cable operators: MaxTV 666, OptiTV 411, IskonTV 611, A1 221, and Terrakom TV 316. Along with its own shows, the channel features various and interesting video content from their partners such as Reboot, Good Game, ZTS, Gallasandall, Lavvek, A1 Adria League, Tehix, Mrtvi piksel, PC Crazy Dario, and many others at any time of the day.

The legendary magazine that was published from 1998 to 2010 returned at the end of 2020 as a special supplement to the magazine VIDI and in the form of a portal for gaming culture that daily brings announcements and reviews of computer games and console games, tests of gaming hardware, gaming news, and everything related to digital entertainment.

The second youngest portal on our list is also the most specialized domestic portal. IndieGames.eu promotes indie games of various genres and creative approaches from Croatia, EU countries, and around the world. It stands out with original reviews, columns with personal opinions, and educational articles in Croatian and English.

10. Pikselzona
