The Polish video game development studio People Can Fly announced on June 1, 2025, that it is halting the development of two projects: Project Gemini, which was to be released in collaboration with Square Enix, and its own VR title Project Bifrost. This decision will result in a significant reduction in the number of employees at the studio.
According to a statement from CEO Sebastian Wojciechowski, the suspension of Project Gemini is due to a lack of communication from the publisher, which did not provide a draft amendment to the publishing agreement, thereby missing the conditions for continuing development. As for Project Bifrost, a cash flow analysis showed that there is no prospect of securing the necessary resources and funds to continue production and release of the project.Gematsu
Wojciechowski expressed deep regret over these events and thanked everyone who has contributed to the projects so far.
Despite these challenges, People Can Fly continues to work on other projects, including Gears of War: E-Day in collaboration with The Coalition and Project Delta in collaboration with Sony Interactive Entertainment.
