Quantic Dream has announced its first multiplayer game. Spellcasters Chronicles is a 3v3 strategic action title where players will control wizards called Spellcasters, each with their own traits and skills.
"Each match is played 3 on 3 with fast-paced battles lasting 25 minutes and takes place in mystical arenas of epic size and verticality. Teams must capture altars and destroy enemy stones to achieve victory." The game also features a deck building system where players will choose from 50 magical powers.
Game director Gregorie Diaconu said: "Spellcasters Chronicles started as a creative experiment and an opportunity to bring our passion for storytelling into a living world. Although it differs greatly from our previous work, it contains everything that has always driven us forward, empowering players to shape the story."
Founder and president of Quantic Dream David Cage stated: "We are honored and excited to present Spellcasters Chronicles to players, which is being developed in our studios in Montreal and Paris. Entering a new genre with a fresh artistic approach has been a challenge, but also a growth for our team. We are excited to further shape the game with player feedback. This project maintains our creative spirit and technical skills that have guided us for three decades. With Spellcasters Chronicles, we want to bring something new to gaming by merging action and strategy."
Closed beta testing is planned for later this year, and you can sign up right now.
For those wondering what is happening with the development of Star Wars Eclipse, Cage has an answer for that too: "Chronicles has been an exploration of bold ideas and an opportunity to expand into a multiplayer experience. It is an adventure we share with our new talents and experts in Montreal and Paris who are still working on the development of Star Wars Eclipse."
