Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have filed a lawsuit against developer Pocketpair, responsible for the popular game Palworld. This game, often described as “Pokémon with guns,” has attracted attention due to its similarities to Pokémon designs.
Nintendo claims that Palworld infringes on their patents, particularly in the design of various creatures that resemble Pokémon. The lawsuit comes eight months after the game's launch, which has already attracted 25 million players on PC and Xbox platforms.
Although Palworld is genre-wise different, focusing on survival and resource gathering elements, the similarities in creature design are evident. Nintendo and The Pokémon Company are seeking substantial financial compensation, and the outcome of the lawsuit could significantly impact the future of the game.
