According to Nomura, the new game will mark the beginning of the end of the series, and it will also be his last game before retirement.
Nomura stated that Kingdom Hearts IV will be accessible to new fans while simultaneously starting a new epic story called "Lost Master Arc." He also mentioned that the game will feature settings based on real locations, such as Shibuya, but with fantasy elements.
