The release of Black Ops 6 started with a strike

In an unexpected turn, just a day after the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, the biggest hit in the series in recent years, Activision's QA testers who worked on the game went on strike due to the mandatory return-to-work policy.

About 30 employees of Activision's QA studio in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, suspended work on Friday, attracting the attention of local media.

According to a report by Eurogamer, Activision informed employees back in January that everyone, regardless of medical recommendations or serious health issues, must return to the office. The worker group ABetterABK called this decision "an unfair policy."

The strike is timed with the launch of Black Ops 6, which has already been rated as a particularly successful new game in the series. A QA team member stated to Fox 9: "We work on Call of Duty; we were part of the QA team that worked on Black Ops 6, which just released today. We also worked on Modern Warfare 2, the most profitable game the company has ever released - and that was done remotely."
