SEGA and Sports Interactive have made the decision to completely cancel the game on all platforms. This is the first time since 2004 that the popular football manager misses a year.
By switching to the Unity engine, the development team encountered serious issues, particularly in the user interface and overall gameplay experience. As a result, the focus has shifted to Football Manager 26, which is planned for release in late 2025.
Everyone who pre-ordered Football Manager 25 will receive a refund. Sports Interactive has apologized to players for the cancellation and announced that all efforts will be directed towards ensuring the best quality for Football Manager 2026.
