Go Home Annie, a first-person horror adventure, is finally available on the market. The game is now officially available on Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store. It was developed by the start-up Misfit Village, located in the PISMO Business Incubator, with the support of the Lithuanian publisher Nordcurrent Labs. Go Home Annie was supported by HAVC for production in 2021 through the first Public Call for video games.
The game's storyline is set in the mystical and enigmatic Žumberak Mountains, where players take on the role of Annie, a heroine exploring an abandoned house, facing paranormal entities and uncovering the secrets it hides. The game is rich in puzzles that players must solve to progress and discover the shocking truths behind the bizarre experiments that took place within this mysterious house.
Although the plot is set within the broader SCP universe (a collaborative fictional world), Go Home Annie offers an original story that will not be familiar even to the most dedicated fans of SCP fiction. Every component of the game – from atmosphere to characters, puzzles, and voice performances – is carefully crafted to create tension that keeps players on the edge of their seats. The game promises everything horror lovers seek: mysterious entities, paranormal phenomena, and surprises that will keep you in fear until the very end.
“We are proud of every product that comes out from the residents of our incubator because we know how much effort and will it takes to bring a project to completion. We believe that Misfit Village is not at the end, but just at the beginning of a new story and that a period of successful game sales lies ahead of them, along with a new adventure that players will gladly enjoy,” said the PISMO incubator.
Misfit Village, the studio behind Go Home Annie, has shown exceptional dedication to the development of this game. They secured funding for production at the first HAVC Public Call for video games, and in 2023, they collaborated with the Lithuanian publisher Nordcurrent Labs, which enabled them to release the game globally. Nordcurrent, known for successful mobile games, recognized the potential of Go Home Annie and decided to support this project, ensuring wide distribution of the game, which is now available on Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store.
This collaboration is significant not only for Misfit Village but also for the entire Croatian gaming industry as it represents a confirmation of the quality of domestic video game development.
“Over five years of working on Go Home Annie, we have given our all to create a unique world filled with puzzles, plot twists, and levels to explore. It all started as a small horror project, but over the years our ambitions and possibilities have grown, which is why in Go Home Annie you will have the chance to see realistic graphics, numerous musical themes, and characters with outstanding voice acting. You can expect 4 to 5 hours of gameplay. We hope to meet the expectations of players around the world who are just stepping into the role of Annie,” said the director of Misfit Village and the game's author, Mladen Bošnjak.
"Go Home Annie is not just another horror adventure – it is an incredible experience that combines tension, mystery, and paranormal phenomena in a unique environment. Set in Croatia, with an innovative approach to the genre and a carefully developed world, this game is among the most anticipated horror games of the year. With millions of views on social media and great anticipation among players, it is clear that Go Home Annie will leave a strong mark in the world of video games," the Inkubator PISMO team states.
