Capcom has released a free update for Resident Evil Requiem, and the biggest news is a brand new mode called "Leon Must Die Forever." The update is already available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
The new mode brings fast-paced action with roguelike elements and unlocks after completing the main campaign. In it, players take on the role of Leon Kennedy and go through 20 levels, which become increasingly challenging, culminating in a showdown with Victor Gideon. Gameplay is based on arena battles within a set time limit, and during play, players can collect upgrades that significantly change the playstyle. Killing enemies allows for unlocking new abilities, passive bonuses, and weapon modifications. Each new attempt features a different layout of locations and available upgrades, further increasing the replay value of the mode.
Capcom has prepared a total of five difficulty levels, including an extreme challenge for the most experienced players. Capcom has also confirmed that a major story expansion for Resident Evil Requiem is still in development and will be presented later.
