Ubisoft has expressed confidence that the upcoming game Assassin's Creed Shadows will be launched on time, without further delays, following the recent shift of the release date to February 14, 2025.
During the financial call, Ubisoft's Chief Financial Officer, Frédérick Duguet, reassured shareholders that the game is ready, noting that it is "finished in terms of features" and that it was delayed only to ensure high quality at launch.
The decision was influenced by the weaker reception of the game Star Wars Outlaws, which was criticized for a lack of polish. The delay will add approximately 20 million euros to development costs, but Ubisoft remains optimistic about the commercial potential of Assassin’s Creed Shadows despite competition from similar titles set to release in 2025.
