Ryu Ga Gotoku which is responsible for developing Yakuza series announced new interesting things during RGG Direct. We found out how Yakuza 3 get a remake called Yakuza Kiwami 3 and will also have the new spin-off game Yakuza 3 Gaiden: Dark Ties.
Yakuza 3 remake is games from in 2009 which came out for PlayStation 3 and just like the remasters of the first two games, they will have a better one visual appearance and gameplay settings. Instead of going for a remaster, the studio decided on a complete rework that they will run Dragon Engine which was used for development Yakuza 6.
Yakuza 3 like the previous games it follows the character again Kazume Kiryu and located in Kamurocho which is a fictional version of the Kabukicho region which is located in Tokyo. He also adds i new Ryukyu location which is located in Nahi (Okinawa Prefecture).
Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Yakuza 3 Gaiden: Dark Ties they will have both English and Japanese voices, and the release is planned for February 12, 2026 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2.
During the same event, it was announced that Yakuza 0 Director's Cut, Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2 which were exclusives za Nintendo Switch 2 still come and on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Yakuza 0: Director's Cut is out on December 8th, Yakuza Kiwami and Kiwami 2 also, while will PC version on that date to get additional languages, as both games have been available through for a long time Steam.
