Jumping Jazz Cats is a playful multiplayer platformer game with cats in a colorful, jazz-inspired environment. It is available on Steam from May 2025 in the Team17 edition. The player assumes the role of a cat in a luxurious mansion full of creative mini-games based on jumping, running and acrobatics. The goal is to have fun with friends - online or locally - through short competitive and team challenges filled with humorous parkour action. The game has been received mostly positively so far.
Gameplay and controls
Controlling the cat is simple and responsive - you can run, jump and perform various acrobatics around the big house. Cats can, for example, slide down handrails, swing on chandeliers, bounce off pillows and climb curtains. Each mini-game brings a different goal: from crazy races and collecting items to the team game of hunting "Shadow Cats". The controls are easy to master, which makes the game accessible to a wide range of players. Minor flaws in the mechanics were also noticed (for example, throwing objects is sometimes not precise), but the general impression of the controllability is very good.
Difficulty and dynamics of the game
Although there are more demanding moments, Jumping Jazz Cats is not overly difficult - even inexperienced players can quickly adapt and enjoy it. The rounds are short and played in a friendly spirit, so defeats are not frustrating. The game features ten original jazz tracks whose choruses periodically introduce additional challenges or rule changes mid-round, keeping the action fresh. The limited number of levels and mini-games means it can feel repetitive after extended play, but the combination of different tracks, modes and tracks still provides solid variety for the occasional session.
Multiplayer

- Restricted content: Few modes and paths, so long-term gameplay can become repetitives
- Dependence on players: Without company, the experience suffers - there are no AI opponents, so playing solo gets boring quickly
- Minor technical problems: Occasional inaccuracies in mechanics (eg when throwing objects) and some bugs; this is expected to be fixed with patches
Conclusion: Jumping Jazz Cats may not have the depth or durability of the big titles, but for a low price it offers plenty of charm and fun – especially for fans of cats and casual party games. It will bring the average player several hours of genuine laughter and relaxation, especially if played in good company with good music and lots of cat energy.
