Domaći studio Today's Games pripremio je za nas demo version svojeg 2.5D platformera Reset. WITHtudio od 2023. tvore ljudi koji su already stekli iskustva radeći na gamema like Serious Sam, Talos Principle, League of Legends, SCUM i The Red Solstice. Reset je njihova debitantska game i bila is during of this year's Tokyo Game Show predstavljena in Japan.

ReSetna is set in an SF dystopian metroidvania style world. A once great civilization has collapsed, and what is left of it survives under the so-called APEX. When a mysterious signal appears that drives the robots crazy and aggressive, ReSetna and her companion are sent to investigate the signal and its true purpose. On the way to the truth, you explore ruins, encounter fallen civilizations and face challenges to learn the truth that may require you to "reset" the world yourself.

At first glance, this Unity game seems graphically juicy, which means that it is visually pleasing to the eye. The developers note that the game is still in the development phase and that this is not its final version. As for the gameplay itself, combo moves and movement are fluid. You have three missions leading up to the final boss. The story in the game itself is intriguing, and you also have the opportunity to technically improve your character and develop skills. The action parts could be too difficult for casual players, which could put some off from this title at first, if they don't get a couple of forgiven blows from the opponent for "encouragement" and motivation. But maybe more gameplay difficulty options will be offered in the final version. The tutorial is solid, but it has its flaws, as does the UI interface. If you're not one of those "who already know", you might get stuck on some parts of jumping over obstacles, because the tutorial doesn't suggest that holding the jump button longer can make the jump a bit longer. With the UI, in some situations, text and symbols overlap, which results in reduced visibility. Also, if you play on the keyboard, you will probably need to better optimize your key layout. For example, I found E blocking better than R, but that may depend on the size of your hand.

Given that we are talking about people with experience in the gaming industry, I examined the demo of this title with a stricter eye. There is certainly room for improvement until the release of the full version of the game, and the title itself seems both risky and ambitious, but also promising for fans of 2.5D platformers. The exact release of the game has not yet been announced, but ReSetna should be available in the first quarter of 2025 for Windows. Dates for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch will be announced later. You can try the demo on Steam here.
