Frostpunk 2, the sequel to the acclaimed survival strategy from 11 Bit Studios, has received an official release date for consoles. The game will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on September 18, 2025, one year after its release on PC.
The console version brings a fully customized interface and controls for playing with a controller, which should make for a more pleasant and intuitive experience. On Xbox, the game will be available immediately on the day of release via the Xbox Game Pass subscription. Also announced are physical versions of the game in collaboration with Skybound Games – Icebreaker Edition and Whiteout Edition, which include extras such as an artbook, a novel and a diorama.
Although Frostpunk 2 already on PC caused a lot of attention and divided reactions due to its narrative and changes in the gameplay structure, the console version has the opportunity to further expand the audience and strengthen the game's position in the genre of post-apocalyptic strategies.
