Sony announced that he had initiated a lawsuit against giant Tencent due to cloning Horizon series. Light of Motiram unlike Horizon is not an RPG, but a survival title, but its visual appearance is very close to the famous series.
Sony apparently let the development of this title run for a while, and now they have gathered enough evidence to go to court.
The well-known company said the following: "Common points with the Horizon series, revealed in the game's promotional trailer Light of Motiram and other promotional materials, include not only identical themes in the story and gameplay, cultural and character motifs, but also artistic style, landscapes, architectural and artistic details, color palettes, fonts and symbols. The lighting and perspectives are also very similar.”
According to the lawsuit, they also claim that this is a fraud, because Tencent offered to make a survival game set in Horizon's universe at the beginning of last year, which Sony refused. The lawsuit requests payment for $150,000 fine for each count according to which they infringed the copyright on Horizon series.
