Firaxis Games and 2K have announced Sid Meier's Civilization VII VR, the first VR version in the history of the franchise, which will be available for Meta Quest 3 and 3S in the spring of 2025.
This new version will allow players to experience the game in a completely new way, immersing themselves in the world of Civilization through virtual reality. The game will feature a unique interface designed specifically for Meta Quest 3 and 3S, allowing players to interact with a virtual command table within their real-life space.
Players will be able to experience legendary leaders such as Hatshepsut of Egypt or Jose Rizal of the Philippines, who will appear face to face with the player when performing certain actions. Civilization VII VR will use a mixed reality component, further increasing the immersion of the game.
The game will support up to four players in multiplayer mode, which is less than the eight players supported by the console and PC versions. Online play requires 2K and Meta accounts.
