Capcom has officially confirmed that Resident Evil 7: Biohazard (Gold Edition), Resident Evil Village (Gold Edition) and the upcoming Resident Evil Requiem will be available on the Nintendo Switch 2.
All of the titles listed are coming to Switch 2 on February 27, 2026.
Details about the games
- Resident Evil Requiem (also known as Resident Evil 9) introduces new protagonist Grace Ashcroft, an FBI agent investigating mysterious deaths at the Wrenwood Hotel, a place connected to her mother from Resident Evil Outbreak.
- The versions of Resident Evil 7 and Village coming to Switch 2 come in “Gold Edition” editions — including all the extra content (expansions, DLC packs) for those games.
Native port vs. cloud versions
One of the important news is that the versions for Switch 2 will be native ports — which means that they will be played directly on the console, without the need for streaming via the Internet — unlike the earlier "cloud editions" of Resident Evil 7 and Village on the original Switch, which were criticized for their poor responsiveness and dependence on high-speed Internet.
