Do you remember the old Flash games that we used to play as kids? They were fast-paced, sometimes humorous and satirical, and some of them could be played with two or more players. Flash may be officially dead, but this type of casual game is definitely not and they are coming in a new guise on almost all platforms.
One such game that becomes available to us is Land of Mushrooms from the workshop of the developer known as Source Byte and the publisher Source Byte Sp. z o.o. They started their work as an independent and enthusiastic group of gamers and entrepreneurs, and have up to fifty team members. Their goal is to help smaller publishers and game creators, and with years of experience they understand the needs of today's market. Land of Mushrooms is a 2D casual and puzzle game where players need to match mushrooms of the same category to create bigger and bigger mushrooms. The goal is not to fill the pot with mushrooms to the end, and special objects can help you in this, such as bombs or super mushrooms that you can pair with any other. It is determined in advance which mushroom or object will be dropped into the pot, and it is up to you to use tactics and strategy to not fill the pot to the end. If you overfill the pot, the mushrooms will start falling out of it and at that point it's game-over. Some basic laws of physics are also applied to the mushrooms, so they will tilt, roll, slide, turn, and the like, so you have to take that into account in your strategy. Matching brings you a certain number of points that are visible on the screen at all times. The final result is presented to you in the ranking list with the other top 10 players, which is divided into three categories: daily, weekly and monthly. The game has single, one-on-one, then co-op gameplay, so you can compete with a friend for points or small mode with less "stress" and smaller mushrooms. You are offered 18 achievements, one of which is hidden. The Sami artwork style is reminiscent of former flash games, and there is also casual music in the background while you arrange your mushrooms.
With the release of the game, the offer of DLC was also announced, and you can also try the demo version. It will definitely provide entertainment during a break at work or while hanging out with friends at home. It is suitable for players of all ages and does not require much time to understand the mechanics and controls. Play around and try to create a superior mushroom! Land of Mushrooms is available for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Microsoft Windows, Linux and Mac OS.
