Lapin is a charming 2D platformer adventure developed by the Korean studio Studio Doodal, while the publisher is Flux Game Studio. It is a visually beautiful and technically very polished game that combines accurate platformer mechanics, an emotional story and a beautiful cartoon pixel style. The game follows a group of five rabbits. Liebe, Captain, Bianca, José and Montblanc,  who are forced to leave their underground sanctuary under the park that is being redeveloped. Through their journey in search of a new home, the game manages to tell a simple but warm story about courage, friendship and acceptance of change.

On PlayStation 5 Lapin runs very stable. During the entire gameplay, there were no significant drops in performance, and the controls are extremely responsive, which is crucial for this type of game. Jumps are precise, movement is smooth, and every keystroke is immediately felt in action. Although it is a smaller indie production, the visual presentation is surprisingly impressive. All the backgrounds look like they were hand-drawn, the characters are full of life, and the animations are warm and fluid. The colors are vivid, the lighting effects are discreet but very effective, which gives the game a sense of depth and warmth.

Game mechanics are based on pure platforming and precise movements. Each level brings new challenges and obstacles. From slippery platforms to moving walls and air currents that demand perfect timing of jumps. The game doesn't forgive mistakes, but it's never unfair. The feeling of executing a long sequence of jumps perfectly is extremely satisfying. Lapin has that old feel of classic platformers where every step and movement has to be carefully measured.

The level design shows how much attention has been put into every detail. Each level has its own visual identity and rhythm. From quieter parts in nature, to more tense sequences in mechanical tunnels and closed spaces. The maps are linear, but often contain hidden passages, collectables and small puzzles. Hidden parts of the levels bring extra rewards, and exploration pays off as the game rewards those who are observant and curious.
As for the progression system, the game does not use a traditional leveling model, but the player collects various items, such as seeds, photos, and notes that reveal additional details about the world and characters. Collecting these items is not necessary to beat the game, but it provides a deeper understanding of the story and background of the characters. In addition, research allows the discovery of additional challenges that test the precision and endurance of the player.
Combat in the classic sense does not exist, but the game contains numerous traps, obstacles and situations that require quick reactions. Every death is a lesson, and every successfully completed segment brings that feeling of small triumph that makes platformers special.

The soundtrack of the game also deserves praise. The music changes depending on the mood of the level. From calm melodies in the first areas to more dynamic tones in the later stages. The sounds of jumps, soft landings and interactions with the world are clearly defined and very pleasant, contributing to the overall impression of quality. There is no voice dialogue, but the rabbits express their emotions through cute sound effects and expressive animations.
In the end, the game leaves an extremely positive impression. It is a game that, with its simplicity and charm, recalls the golden age of 2D platformers, but with modern aesthetics and perfect control. The platforming is challenging but fair, exploration is rewarded, and the world is full of warmth and charm. It takes about 8 to 10 hours to complete the basic campaign, which is the ideal length for this type of game.

Overall, a great example of how an indie game can offer an experience that can easily match the quality of larger titles. The combination of top technical performance, emotional story and demanding but fair gameplay makes it one of those games that remain in the memory even after the end. It should also be noted that on PlayStation 5 the game is equipped with 45 trophies. 28 bronze, 14 silver, 2 gold and 1 platinum trophies. The platinum trophy is awarded when the player wins all other trophies. To win it, it is necessary not only to finish the game, but also to collect all the items, unlock all the hidden parts, achieve a high level of friendship between the characters and overcome all the challenges in the basic campaign.
