"Yooka-Replaylee" is a game that is marketed as a remaster of the 2017 game "Yooka-Laylee". But this game is much more than that. The ambitiousness of the remake and the focus on details make it perhaps a full-blooded remake. It can be said that this is the final vision of the game that should have been released eight years ago. The game retains the main thing that attracted fans to the original, which is the charming duo - the green chameleon Yooka and the sarcastic bat Laylee. Together, they fight against the infamous Capital Bee Corporation and collect Pagies (book pages) to unlock new, detailed worlds. The story and characters, therefore, remained the same. The key difference in the games lies in the gameplay and the feeling itself. The original Yooka-Laylee was loved for its nostalgic spirit, but people often criticized the game for its technical flaws. The biggest complaints were about the clumsy and imprecise controls, the problematic camera that often got stuck or blocked the view, and the level design that often looked too big and too empty, with too little detail. "Yooka-Replaylee" is a targeted solution for all these problems. The improvements are thorough. The controls are much more fluid, responsive and precise, and we know that this is the most important element of all platformers. The camera has been completely reworked and is now much more stable and reliable, allowing players to focus on jumping and exploring instead of struggling with movement. One of the improvements is that some abilities, which in the original were unlocked later, are now available immediately at the start, such as floating in the air (glide). This fact makes navigating the vast worlds much more enjoyable right at the start of the game.

Our answer is - if it was done in a "Yooka-Replaylee" way, the definitive answer is - YES. This game is an advanced version of the game "Yooka-Laylee". The developers managed to fully fulfill the potential of the original. The general consensus among critics is that this is an excellent platformer, steeped in witty dialogue, classic charm and an excellent gameplay experience. Many who were disappointed with the original will improve their impression with this game. For fans of this genre, this is a must buy.
