After almost a year and a half in early access, Snacko left Early Access on May 25, 2025 and became available as version 1.0 on the PC platform via Steam. In this cozy indie game, you take on the roles of cat protagonists Momo and Mikan who arrive at the mysterious Snacko Island, abandoned to be transformed back into a meaningful and colorful island.

The Bluecurse Studios development team - with the support of the publisher Armor Games - delivered a rich package of news together with the "Mines & Magicks" update: completely redesigned mines with ten levels, terminals that give items or buffs, an upgrade of the mining kart and a magic wand that allows you to perform up to eight spells per rune. New quest lines and emotional "confession" events were also introduced, expanding the game's world and characters

Among the key improvements are a smart inventory with an automatic auto-deposit system, overflow storage, a lunchbox for automatic stamina recovery, the ability to remodel the village over more than 300 items with snap‑to‑grid and undo/redo options. Visual themes such as dark mode and contrast and lighting adjustments have also been added for a more pleasant visual experience.

The game has been rated by the community on Steam with an impressive 98% positive reviews in a total of 481 votes, including 110 fresh opinions in the last month On Reddit, user MZ10590 raved:

"Snacko is literally one of the coziest games I've ever played..." youtube.com+14reddit.com+14thegeeklygrind.com+14, while another points out that the developers are very dedicated to QOL features, and even a demo version with an end-game farm encourages you to buy reddit.com.

The patch notes after version 1.0 reveal a focus on balance, bug fixes, and minor tweaks: for example, spell damage adjustments, more flexible karting, fixed soft‑lock bugs, revamped fishing, and improvements to mining resources and the drop‑stop system. The developers have confirmed that they plan to include achievements soon, but that they simply did not manage to implement it until version 1.0 due to the priority of larger new content.

Although console versions for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch are yet to arrive, the game is already considered technically polished and Steam Deck verified, with full controller support.

In conclusion, Snacko delivers everything that fans of life-sim/cozy games love – warmth, creativity and depth, all spiced up with feline charm and a fine soundtrack by Dale North and Camellia. It offers more than just a farm sim: there is the fight against the curse, the exploration of four distinct biomes, construction, socializing with the characters, romance and the secrets of the island - all for an acceptable price of 24.50 euros with occasional discounts. If you like games like Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing or Story of Seasons, Snacko is a great choice to relax and enjoy.
