Irem Collection Volume 3 is the third part of Irem's acclaimed retro series, which brings together three classic Irem arcade shoot-'em-up games:

  • Mr. Heli (a.k.a. Battle Chopper, 1987) – a cute legged chopper moves through various levels, collects crystals, buys upgrades and explores hidden paths with massive boss battles.
  • Mystic Riders (1992) - a wizard shoot-'em-up with a cheerful fantasy style, where you control a witch on a broom, use a boomerang broom to block missiles, there is also local co-op for two.
  • Dragon Breed (1989) – epic horizontal shooter with Bahamoota dragon riding; the dragon serves as a human shield, while the gaierz works with it and targets opponents, reminiscent of R‑Type in fantasy guise.

Main features:

  • Three fantastic action title arcade shoot-'em-ups,
  • Modern tools: quick save/load, rewind, display of filters (CRT, pixel-perfect), and global leaderboards.
  • Local co‑op in Mystic Riders and control and difficulty customization options for easier gameplay.
  • The possibility of including codes!

Conclusion: Irem Collection Volume3 offers a compact but high-quality trio of arcade shoot-'em-up titles with modern functions such as save/load, rewind, CRT filter and casual mode. Although the collection has only three games, each brings a unique experience – fantasy Mystic Riders, investigative Mr. Heli and the brutal Dragon Breed.

The main complaint about the collection is the lack of archival material - there are no concepts, developer comments or historical notes.

While not rich in extra content, this collection excels where it matters most – playability, emulation and variety. Ideal for fans of retro games, i.e. fans of the genre.

Irem Collection Volume 3 is available digitally for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S at a price of 24.99 euros.
