Frostrail is an upcoming survival FPS adventure where a frozen, poisoned world forces you to survive - alone or in brutal co-op (up to four players). In the role of the "repentant gardeners", you travel on an armored steam train, the last bastion of humanity, through the frozen wastelands lined with the ruins of a former empire.
The main challenge lies in the fact that your train is not just transport - it is a mobile home and a lifeline. You have to power it with the "Eden Engine", provide fuel, upgrade armor, assemble weapons, build crafting stations and warehouses. Over time, your train becomes a mobile fortress to fend off violent revenants and supernatural threats,
During this year's Gamescom, we had the opportunity to attend the presentation of the game. The developer from the company FakeFish (known for the game Barotrauma) showed us the basic gameplay, which also includes exploring the underground! Along with exploring the icy expanses, survival elements, and fighting against creepy enemies, we were especially impressed by the graphics at the level of the PlayStation 2 console!
Outside the train, the world is deadly: an ice trap, blizzards and hunger for warmth threaten your every step. You explore frozen ruins, underground bunkers and other dangerous locations - every metropolis hides supplies, but also death. Once he dies, it's not game over, but players can find his body and retrieve weapons and equipment. When played cooperatively, other players will be able to revive a fallen fighter.
This interesting independent game in the Early Access version for PC (Steam) will be released in early 2026.
