Fata Deum, the simulator game from 42 Bits Entertainment and Aerosoft, is available in Early Access on Steam, GOG and Epic Games Store from today. This title revives a genre that many thought was forgotten, and already more than 250,000 players have added it to their wish lists.
Inspired by the legendary "god game" games that have marked generations of PC gamers, Fata Deum gives you the power to shape the world according to your own decisions and mood. Cities will grow, residents create families and friendships, and you choose whether to reward or punish them.
As a deity, your influence grows with the number of followers you attract - either through kindness or through fear. The world responds to your actions, turning into a fertile and bright land under your gracious hand or a dark and corrupt domain of tyranny. Rival deities of violence, deceit, fertility and pleasure will also challenge you to battle for the faithful.
The game offers a unique day-night cycle - during the day you directly influence mortals with blessings or terrifying visions, while at night you plan the development of settlements, inspire people through dreams or sabotage rival villages. The environment changes according to your ruling style, from shining fields to twisted forests.
Fata Deum was created in close cooperation with the gaming community, from the Kickstarter campaign until the release in Early Access. Player ideas and feedback have helped shape an experience that evokes the nostalgia of the golden age of "god game" titles from the 90s and early 2000s.
