Ubisoft has confirmed that development of Beyond Good and Evil 2 is continuing, despite a lengthy development process that has spanned nearly two decades. It was recently announced that Fawzi Mesmar has taken over the role of creative director, following the tragic death of the previous director, Emile Morel, last year. Mesmar, who was previously vice president of editorial at Ubisoft, has more than 20 years of experience in the video game industry and has worked on titles such as Star Wars Outlaws and Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope.
Mesmar stated that he is excited to continue working on this ambitious game and build on the vision set by his predecessor. Ubisoft also confirmed its commitment to finishing development. Fans of the original game from 2003 are eagerly awaiting the sequel, which will be a prequel and with a large open universe will allow players to customize the appearance of playable characters (crew members).
