Mega Cat Studios and Retroware have confirmed that their new action platformer Angry Video Game Nerd 8-bit will be released on October 23, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
Limited Run Games will also offer physical editions for modern consoles, as well as a special edition on the original NES cartridge. The game brings an authentic retro atmosphere, and players in the role of the legendary Nerd will go through challenging 8-bit levels full of zombies, skeletons and iconic enemies from the AVGN universe.
