The PC remaster of the original game Croc: Legend of the Gobbos will come to GOG at the end of this year. It has also been announced that everyone who purchases the new version will receive the original one from 1997. In August of this year, the team behind the series, Argonaut Games, has come back to life and announced that they will also revive other series.
The remaster will include HD graphics, modern controls (with the option to retain the old ones), a new camera, and retro filters. Everyone who has the retro filter enabled will receive the old version, but improved for new systems.
"The goal of the Croc remaster is to awaken the old imagination of players with its HD graphics, modern controls, and authentic gameplay experience that will transport them to the golden age of gaming," said Argonaut's founder Jez San. He also added that: "Croc: Legend of the Gobbos is a nostalgic return for old gamers, but also a journey for newcomers. We decided to dedicate ourselves to bringing this remaster to as many audiences as possible so that everyone can enjoy it on PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, PC, and GOG."
Bartosz Kwietniewski from GOG said: "Croc represents the heart of our mission - preserving and celebrating the legacy of gaming. By offering both the classic and remastered versions in one package and keeping all our games free from DRM, we ensure that players can relive memories while also retaining their games."
